I love this medieval city where my mother was born. During a visit in 2016, I discovered a small high-quality leather goods workshop that was going to close. A place historically known for handcrafted creations, abandoned by its European customers looking for lower cost suppliers. I was immediately attracted to these greatly skilled and passionate craftsmen now left behind.
At the heart of a historical region specialized in leatherwork, would it be crazy to perpetuate this tradition with materials other than leather ? Quality materials, ecological and...leather-free ! After more than a year to find the materials, to imagine a collection with refined and feminine lines, Alixane was launched in 2018.
